PMI offers a variety of quality, scientifically substantiated smoke-free products that are much better choices than continued smoking. Our vision is that our smoke-free products will one day replace cigarettes.

• Cigarette smoking causes serious diseases and is addictive. Without question, the best decision any smoker can make is to quit tobacco and nicotine use altogether.
• Minors should not use tobacco or nicotine in any form.
• PMI’s smoke-free products are for adults who would otherwise continue to smoke or use other nicotine products.
• We do not offer PMI’s smoke-free products to people who have never used tobacco or nicotine products or who have quit using tobacco and nicotine products. Our smoke-free products are not alternatives to quitting and are not designed as cessation aids.
• PMI’s smoke-free products are not risk free and contain nicotine, which is addictive. Switching to a smoke-free product is, however, a better choice than continuing to smoke.
• We support our adult smoke-free product users in their journey to full conversion through education and guidance.
• For consumers to experience the benefits of smoke-free products, they must switch completely and abandon smoking permanently.
• We inform consumers of all relevant safety information about our smoke-free products.

Tobacco and Nicotine

·    Tobacco sticks used with IQOS^TM contain nicotine, which is addictive.

·    IQOS and tobacco sticks are not risk-free.

·    The best way to reduce tobacco-related health risks is to quit tobacco and nicotine use altogether.

·    Some users of IQOS and tobacco sticks reported experiencing abdominal pain, chest pain, choking sensation, cough, difficulty breathing, dizziness, dry mouth, dry throat, gingivitis, headache, malaise, nasal stuffiness, nausea, mouth irritation, palpitations, throat irritation, and vomiting.

·    Nicotine-containing products should not be used by people who have or are at risk of heart disease, are diabetic, are epileptic, or are experiencing seizures.

·    Nicotine-containing products should not be used during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.

·    If you are pregnant, breast-feeding, or think you may be pregnant, you should quit tobacco and nicotine use altogether.

·    Stopping smoking or switching to IQOS and tobacco sticks or other nicotine-containing products may require the adjustment of the dosing of certain medicines (e.g. theophylline, clozapine, ropinirole).

·    If you have questions about whether you should use IQOS and tobacco sticks given an existing health condition, consult a health care professional.

Exclusive use of tobacco sticks

    

·        Only use:

·        IQOS 3 DUO^TM or earlier generation devices with HEETS^TM tobacco sticks,

·        IQOS ILUMA^TM with TEREA^TM tobacco sticks.

·        Only purchase IQOS, HEETS tobacco sticks and TEREA tobacco sticks from your local or online IQOS stores or other authorized retailers.

·        Only use IQOS with tobacco sticks. Never use IQOS with a cigarette or similar products that are not approved for usage with IQOS. Doing so may result in injury.

·        Do not modify HEETS tobacco sticks, TEREA tobacco sticks, in any way or add any substance to HEETS tobacco sticks, TEREA tobacco sticks. Doing so may result in injury.

Information about TEREA CRAFTED

The term "natural" exclusively refers to tobacco and other botanicals. It does not mean that this product is safer than other TEREA tobacco sticks. 

• TEREA CRAFTED ANTHEA BLEND contains Rosemary, which may cause allergic reaction. This product contains menthol. Flavorings should not be confused with the additives contained in tobacco sticks. Find out more: www.philipmorris.ch.

Battery Degradation

IQOS devices, including holders, contain a lithium-ion battery. The lithium-ion battery in the devices is a consumable component that degrades with usage and age. This is a natural process common to all rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. As the battery ages, the active ingredients inside the battery become less capable of retaining energy, resulting in a permanent decrease in maximum battery capacity and usable energy. In addition, the active ingredients become less effective in delivering energy, resulting in a decrease of the battery’s ability to provide sufficient power for electronic device components to operate. As a result, where relevant, the duration of experience may appear to be shorter, the number of puffs or experiences with one full charge may appear to be fewer, the second consecutive use might be shorter or missing, or some device features, such as autostart or double tap for the IQOS ILUMA holder, may not perform.

The battery is a chemical system that requires certain temperature ranges during charge and discharge to work optimally and minimize battery capacity degradation over its lifetime. Although your device has a specific operating range within which the device will function, operating at the extreme ends of this range will degrade your battery faster. Your device comes with customized software to control the charging parameters in order to maximize the life of your device. These algorithms can support the longevity of your battery life, but they can still never fully mitigate the normal aging mechanisms of lithium batteries. High and low temperature operation of your device will accelerate the natural degradation of your battery. Even if you do not use your device the batteries contain chemical systems which can still degrade over time. In order to slow the battery degradation process, we recommend charging your device within the recommended temperature zone, not keeping it discharged for long periods of time and using the charging cables and power adaptors that come together with the device as per the user guides.

Information Related to Refreshed Devices (IQOS REFRESHED) 

 

Seller’s warranty

Subject to applicable law, the duration of the warranty for refreshed IQOS™ ILUMA devices is of 2 years from the date of purchase and of 1 year for IQOS™ 3 DUO devices.

If the refreshed IQOS™ holder and/or charger are defective at the time of delivery and are subject to a valid warranty claim, Philip Morris Switzerland Sàrl will either repair or replace the defective product. If repair is not possible, replacement will be provided with a refreshed product or respective component of equivalent functionality.

Manufacturer’s limited voluntary warranty

Duration

The duration of the manufacturer’s limited voluntary warranty in Switzerland is of 2 years from the date of purchase for IQOS™ ILUMA and of 1 year for IQOS™ 3 DUO devices.

What this warranty covers

Philip Morris Switzerland Sàrl will, at its option (but without affecting your statutory rights), repair or replace the refreshed (used, cleaned and disinfected) IQOS™ holder and/or charger which are defective in terms of material or workmanship when used in accordance with the associated IQOS™ User Guide and which are subject to a valid limited voluntary warranty claim. If repair is not possible, replacement will be provided with a refreshed product or respective component of equivalent functionality.

To the extent permitted by local law, the replacement color and/or model are subject to such color and/or model availability. The provisions of this warranty are only valid in the country of purchase.

What is excluded from this warranty?

The following are excluded from the terms of this warranty:

a) damage caused by normal wear and tear;

b) cosmetic damage (such as scratches, dents, broken plastic etc.);

c) damage caused by misuse, power surge, improper handling, liquid contact or fire;

d) malfunction due to use with non-compatible product;

e) damage or malfunction caused by attempt to open, modify and repair, either by a user or by a service provider not accredited by the manufacturer;

f) damage or malfunction caused by failure to use as described in the associated IQOS™ User Guide;

g) product battery performance degradation. Batteries are consumable parts and their performance degradation and use over time is not a manufacturing or workmanship defect and is excluded from this warranty.

Other terms

Where an exchange takes place, then any replacement part becomes your property and the replaced part becomes the property of the entity which makes the exchange. The information provided by you will be used as described in consumer privacy notice at www.pmiprivacy.com. In case of replacement, the replaced product or component shall be warranted for the balance of the 24 months period remaining on the original IQOS™ ILUMA product and 12 months period remaining on the original IQOS™ 3 DUO.

Additional legal rights for consumers

The rights conveyed under this voluntary warranty are in addition and without prejudice to all rights and remedies provided by consumer protection laws in the country of purchase.
